The tasks an empty house still needs

An unoccupied home keeps generating small jobs. Mail and packages pile up at the door. Trash day comes and goes. A car sits for three months and its battery goes flat. Plants dry out. None of it is complicated, but all of it needs a person who is local, reliable and trusted with a key.

Property care and concierge services can be added to home watch visits or arranged on their own:

  • Mail and package collection
  • Trash and recycling bin placement and retrieval
  • Vehicle checks and periodic starts when requested
  • Plant and basic property checks
  • Keyholder services
  • Customized property checklists based on the needs of each home

Why it matters that the house looks lived in

A stack of packages on a front step and bins left at the curb for a week are the two easiest signs that nobody is home. Collecting deliveries promptly and putting bins out and back on the right days keeps the house looking ordinary from the street, which is exactly how you want it to look.

This is not a security service, and House Hawk does not patrol or guard property. It is simply the routine a resident would follow, carried on while the resident is somewhere else.

Vehicles left at the house

Cars that sit for long stretches tend to come back with a flat battery, and many owners of second homes keep a vehicle at each place. On request, vehicles get a visual check and a periodic start, so the car you left in the garage is ready to drive when you land.

Keyholding

Every empty house needs one local person who can open the door. Keyholder service means there is someone nearby who can let in an approved vendor, check on the house after an alarm company calls, or open up for a family member, without you having to arrange it from another time zone.

A checklist built around your home

No two homes need the same list. A coastal house with a lot of glass, a ranch property with irrigation zones and a barn, and a hillside home with a pool all need different things looked at. Before the first visit, the property is walked with you and the checklist is built around that home, so every visit covers what actually matters to you.
