Fairbanks Ranch takes its name from Douglas Fairbanks, the silent film star who owned the land in the 1920s. Today it is a guard-gated community of large estates in the San Dieguito River valley, between Rancho Santa Fe and Del Mar, with a country club, equestrian properties and a lot of open, landscaped ground.
